1. Overview and Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or subscribing to Loco or Loco Pro ("Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Loco is developed and distributed by Marais Software ("we", "us", or "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the software.
2. Software License and Editions
Loco (Free Edition): Provided free of charge for personal and commercial use on compatible Windows 64-bit systems. Includes local GGUF model execution, Model Library, hardware telemetry, 1 autonomous agent, 1 automated workflow, and 1 LAN device connection.
Loco Pro (Subscription): Unlocks unlimited autonomous agents, unlimited automated workflows, up to 5 simultaneous LAN devices/workers, distributed LAN inference, scheduled background cron tasks, webhooks, and REST API access. Subject to an active subscription or valid signed license key.
3. Billing, Subscriptions, and Cancellation
- Payment Processing: All subscription payments are processed securely through PayPal. We do not store or process your credit card numbers or banking credentials directly.
- Recurring Billing: Subscriptions renew automatically at the specified billing frequency (Monthly: $6/mo, Quarterly: $18/qtr, Biannual: $33/semi, or Annual: $39/yr) until cancelled.
- Cancel Anytime: You may cancel your subscription at any time directly from your PayPal account or via your Loco Customer Portal. Upon cancellation, your Pro license remains fully active until the conclusion of your pre-paid billing cycle.
- Device Activations: A single Loco Pro license permits activation on up to 5 concurrent devices owned or operated by the license holder. Connected devices can be managed or reset at any time in your customer dashboard.
4. Refund Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with Loco Pro. If you experience technical incompatibility that our support team cannot resolve, we offer a 14-day refund guarantee from the initial purchase date. To request a refund, contact us at info@maraissoftware.co.za with your PayPal subscription ID or purchase email.
5. Local Inference and Data Privacy
Loco is built on a local-first architecture. Model inference, weights, chat conversations, documents, and agent configurations reside entirely on your personal computer hardware. Marais Software does not operate hosted model endpoints or collect your chat prompts.

6. Third-Party Open-Weights Models
Loco enables execution of open-weights language models (e.g., Llama, Qwen, Mistral, Gemma, DeepSeek) via local GGUF runtimes. These models are published by independent third parties under their respective licenses (e.g., Apache 2.0, MIT, Llama Community License). Users are responsible for complying with the acceptable use terms of the individual models they choose to download and run.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Marais Software shall not be liable for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Software, including any outputs generated by AI models running on the user's hardware.
